Candidates – Declared

Democratic President Barack Obama will be eligible to run for a second and final term during this election. Although no formal announcement has been made, the President has said any campaign in 2012 would be headquartered in Chicago.

Declared and potential challengers include the following individuals who have either formally announced that they are running for president in 2012, have filed as a candidate with the Federal Election Commission or formed an exploratory committee for a possible presidential run in 2012.

Cain, Herman
Occupation: Newspaper columnist, businessman and radio talk-show host from Atlanta. Best known as the former corporate vice president of Burger King and former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, saving that company from bankruptcy. Previously, he served as chairman of the board of directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, and was chairman of the board for the National Restaurant Association.

Davis plans to visit all 3,200 counties in the United States as part of his march to become the 45th president of the United States. In October 2010, Davis declared his intention to run for President in a full-page ad in The Daily Sentinel, which was followed by a formal announcement in front of the Mesa County Courthouse. Kicked off his national bus tour in January 2011 on what will be a 20-month trip, making a total of 118 planned campaign stops.
